What's In a Name?
‘Displaced’ is also another term for homeless. ‘Roses’ are often thought of as the most beautiful flowers, meant to be cherished. But for our founder Kristine, who became aware of the strife that the unhoused population suffered by the early age of ten, it also holds another significance, remembrance. She had two uncles that were affected by chronic homelessness that shared the last name Rose. Sadly, in 2017 one of those uncles were struck by a car. Shortly after being hospitalized he died, but not before receiving the Lord’s Prayer and accepting Jesus into his life. In combining these two words we not only describe who we serve, but also give honor to the uncles that touched her life.
